TASTE
TOUR DE GEORGIA $15
NV Habersham Vineyards, “Creekstone,” Viognier, Helen, GA
Rich apricot and pear flavors dominate this Rhone Valley transplant to Georgia. The highly perfumed bouquet is followed by a balanced and refined peach infused palate.
2005 Tiger Mountain Vineyards, Cabernet Franc, Tiger, GA
Light on its feet—but sure in its step—this Bordeaux varietal has surely found a home in N. Georgia. The peppery perfume is followed by flavors that finesse the palate—raspberry, cassis with a hint of tobacco.
2005 Habersham, Cabernet Sauvignon, Helen, GA
This estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon from Helen, GA has delicious black pepper, cherry and currant flavors. Well structured with supple tannins and substantial body is reminiscent of left-bank Bordeaux.
2004 Tiger Mountain Vineyards, Norton, Tiger, GA
Most experts suspect that the NORTON grape is a hybrid of one or more native varieties and one “noble” Vitis Vinifera grape. Originally introduced in Virginia, this Georgia example displays a dark, brickish color with aromas and flavors of raspberry, cassis, and coffee.

We've put put together an extraordinary selection of Italian wines expertly paired with Chef Hewins cuisine. Let one of our tasting room experts guide you through an Italian wine experience you won't forget!
TASTE OF ITALY $15
2006 Bastianich, Tocai Friulano, Friuli
Tocai Friulano is the most typical white wine in the Friuli region. This cool climate aromatic varietal teems with flavors and aromas of flowers, pear, herbs and citrus. Very nicely balanced acidity heightens the wines flavors and gives it a long, crisp finish.
2006 Terredora Dipaolo, Falanghina, Campania
Falanghina has been grown for thousands of years in its native Campania and was used in one of the highest regarded wines of the Roman Empire. One taste of this beauty and you’ll understand why. Intense fruit aromas and flavors including apples, lemons, and pears combine with a surprising blast of mineral and stony tastes.
2004 Giacomo Mori, Chianti, Toscana
The Mori family has been growing grapes in Italy’s famed Chianti region since the 1830’s. But it wasn’t until the 1990’s that the estate underwent a major renovation and modernization. With flavors and aromas of cherries and underbrush, this Chianti is the essence of Sangiovese, both elegant and concentrated at the same time.
2006 Donnafugata, “Sedara,” Nero d’ Avola, Sicilia
Typical of the varietal, this is a richly colored wine, inky, dark ruby, and almost purple-black in the glass. Exuberant, forward, almost over the top aromas of blueberries, blackberries, vanilla and spice climb out of the glass and are followed on the plate by ultra-ripe fruit flavors that the wine almost seems off-dry. For those who like their wine brawny and ripe—this Sicilian gem is a no brainer.
DISCOVER PIEMONTE $20
2000 Rocche dei Manzoni, Barbera d’ Alba, Piedmonte
The second most widely planted red wine grape in Italy, Barbera is often planted on sites too cool to ripen its more regal cousin—Nebbiolo. With attractive aromas of summer berries and cherries, this example shows great varietel character with its relatively high level of acid, solid structure and a lingering finish.
2006 Clerico, Dolcetto, Langhe, Piemonte
This deep ruby-red Dolcetto has fresh aromas of cassis and black cherry and vibrant flavors of dark fruit and licorice. With considerable tannic “grip” and relatively low acid, this broad shouldered example from the esteemed producer Clerico is rich, juicy and deliciously quaffable.
2005 Piasa San Maurizio, Moscato d’ Asti, Piedmonte
This sparkler from the Asti region shows a beautiful greenish yellow and good effervescence. Intense aromas of peaches, flowers, pear and honey draw you in and then are followed by a really fresh palate with light body—intense flavors.
