For this week's "Adventures in the Vines," I actually participated in planting our new Vidal Blanc vines, which will essentially cover 1.4 acres, once they're all planted!
Winemaker Craig explains the vines are dormant bare-rooted grapevines, meaning they've been grafted to rootstock, (grown on their own roots), at least a year prior to planting.
My daughters also helped plant vines as well, & they really enjoyed learning a little about viticulture & the process of making wine; hey were fascinated at how a single vine is eventually used to produce our handcrafted wines.
